Agartala, May 4: Tripura’s judiciary has secured the first position among the small states of the country, according to the recently published India Justice Report 2025. The report, which assesses the performance of states in four key areas — judicial process, police, prisons, and legal aid — was released with the support of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative.

Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha extended his congratulations to all concerned for this remarkable achievement. In a message, the Chief Minister credited the success to the combined efforts of esteemed judges, judicial officers, court staff, and members of the bar associated with the state’s judiciary.

He further expressed confidence that this recognition would strengthen public trust in the state’s judicial system and reinforce faith in the rule of law.

The India Justice Report is an annual assessment that evaluates the justice delivery system across states and union territories, categorizing them into large and small states for comparative analysis.
