Tripura Minister Sushanta Chowdhury Urges Centre To Start New Flight Services From Agartala To Jorhat & Hyderabad

State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury once again sought the intervention of the Union Minister to increase air connectivity in view of the growing demand of the state in the field of civil aviation.

Agartala Airport is currently one of the busiest airports in North East India which continues to serve as the main air life line for the people of North East India. Hence, State Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has written to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to start air services on Agartala to Jorhat city in Assam and Agartala to Hyderabad route as soon as possible.

In the letter, the state transport minister mentioned that the proposed air services on Agartala to Jorhat and Agartala to Hyderabad routes have not started yet. Hence, he today wrote to Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia seeking his intervention in the matter.

Thanking the Union Minister for sanctioning the operation of SpiceJet on Jorhat-Agartala-Jorhat route and IndiGo on Hyderabad-Agartala-Hyderabad route, flight services were scheduled to commence on these routes from October 20 as per Airport Authority of India’s winter flight schedule.

But, Spice Jet and IndiGo airlines so far have not started their service on the route.
