Railways Considers Special Train Between Agartala and Haridwar After MP Biplab Deb’s Request

Tripura’s former Chief Minister and current MP Biplab Kumar Deb has thanked Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for taking a positive step toward launching a new weekly special train service between Agartala and Haridwar.

In a letter dated July 24, 2025, the Railway Minister confirmed that feasibility studies are underway to assess the possibility of introducing the new route.

This move follows Deb’s formal request submitted on July 19, 2025, citing strong public demand for better rail connectivity between Tripura and North India.
