E-auction center for auction of tea leaves is going to be launched in the state soon. This e-auction center will be opened at the Central Tea Processing Factory of Tea Development Corporation at Durgabari. In this regard, the central government has given a green signal to the state.

Tripura Tea Development Corporation (TTDC) Chairman Sameer Ranjan Ghosh shared this news in a press conference on Friday at the Tea Development Corporation office.

He further said, “The e-auction center in Tripura will be the seventh in the country. If the e-auction center is launched, Tripura’s tea will get a fair price according to its quality, export will be facilitated and new employment opportunities will be created.”

TTDC Chairman added, “About twenty thousand people are associated with the tea industry of the state. About 1 crore kg of tea is produced in the state every year. Tripura ranks fifth in the country in tea production. This e-auction center will play a special role in giving special recognition to Tripura’s tea in the national and international market.”
He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha for the initiative.
