Agartala, July 5: Tipra Motha is preparing to withdraw its support from the ruling BJP in Tripura. The party will make a formal announcement after a scheduled meeting with the Union Home Minister in Delhi.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Tipra Motha MLA Ranjit Debbarma confirmed the development. He stated that the party leadership would take a final decision following discussions with the Home Minister regarding the party’s long-standing demands, including constitutional solutions for the indigenous people of Tripura.
“The party has decided in principle to withdraw support from the BJP-led government. A formal announcement will be made after our delegation meets the Home Minister in Delhi,” said Debbarma.
