Tripura to host first-ever G20 summit of State commencing on April 3

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that Agartala, the capital of north-eastern state of Tripura is fully prepared to hold a two-day G20 summit on the theme of “Clean Energy for a Greener Future” starting from April 3.

The north-eastern state is putting in significant efforts to ensure the event’s success, including setting up 46 stalls with decorations at the Hapania indoor exhibition hall.

Stalls from all eight districts of the state are being established. Santana Chakma, the Minister of Industries and Commerce inspected the ongoing preparations at the exhibition hall and expressed confidence that the state is ready to welcome both national and international delegates.

Notably, it is the first time that an international summit has been planned to take place in Tripura.

CM Dr. Manik Saha also expressed the state’s preparedness as well as his happiness to host the international summit at a global standard.
The Chief Minister said, “Tripura is well-prepared to welcome delegates from Europe and other regions of the world for the forthcoming G20 summit scheduled to take place on April 3rd and 4th.”

He added that this is a momentous occasion and source of great joy for the Tripura’s people, as it is the first time the state will host such a prominent international event.

CM further said that the delegates are expected to arrive on 2nd April, and they will attend the G20 summit on the 3rd and 4th.

He also said that the entire state has been decorated with lights ahead of G20 Summit.
CM Saha added, “Yesterday, I conducted a review meeting with all relevant ministries and office heads to assess their readiness for the event and found that they are all set and eagerly looking forward to the summit.

He also said that the G20 delegates will visit all the attractive and historical places of Tripura like Nirmahal, Ujjayanta palace, etc.
