Guests at the Republic Day presidential banquet were treated to a unique delicacy from Tripura, as Pera from the historic Tripureshwari Temple at Matabari were served on the menu. This marked the first time that Pera from the revered temple were included in the presidential banquet, reviving an old tradition of showcasing indigenous produce.

Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha shared the development on social media, expressing his happiness that the renowned Tripureshwari Matabari Pera found a place at such a prestigious national event.

The Pera from the temple have already been awarded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, recognising their unique quality and regional significance.

Devotees across Tripura have expressed happiness and pride over the inclusion of the famed Tripureshwari Temple Pera in the presidential banquet menu, calling it a moment of honour for the state and its rich cultural heritage.
