AGARTALA — Pradesh Congress leader Sudip Roy Barman has interpreted the recent village committee election results as the beginning of a fresh political path for the Congress, asserting that the party has effectively initiated its turnaround from scratch.

Despite heavy campaigning surrounding the BJP’s single seat in the village committee elections, Roy Barman expressed strong confidence in the Congress party’s overall trajectory.

Roy Barman targeted the Left Front’s long-standing dominance, noting that the political reality in areas historically controlled by the Left has changed significantly. He also shared observations on the political rise of Tipra Motha and criticized the BJP’s campaign strategy around the NDA alliance.

In a major hint regarding upcoming municipal elections, the Congress leader indicated that the party may contest independently rather than entering into an alliance or seat-sharing agreement with the CPI(M). This statement has sparked renewed speculation about the party’s standalone position moving forward.

Addressing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, Roy Barman urged election officials to follow procedural rules strictly. He emphasized that meticulous care must be taken so no genuine voter is left off the rolls.

The party has scheduled an upcoming event on October 8, where Congress is expected to outline its official political roadmap and strategy.
