Agartala, June 15, 2025:
The Meteorological Centre in Agartala has issued a weather alert predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over Tripura between 16th and 18th June 2025. The rainfall will be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds during this period.

As per the latest weather analysis, a cyclonic circulation is currently located over the Northwest Bay of Bengal at altitudes between 3.1 km and 7.6 km above mean sea level, inclining southwestward with height. In addition, another cyclonic circulation persists over Central Assam at around 4.5 km altitude.

These prevailing atmospheric disturbances, together with strong southerly and southwesterly winds, are likely to result in significant moisture inflow across the region, intensifying rainfall activity in the state.

Residents are advised to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy showers, and follow safety instructions issued by the local administration.
