Agartala, July 15: Ahead of the traditional Rath Yatra festival scheduled to be held on Thursday, the West Tripura district administration on Wednesday reviewed the overall preparations and security arrangements at Jagannath Bari in Agartala to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the festival.
West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, Traffic SP Kanta Jangir and other senior officials of the district administration and police visited Jagannath Bari and inspected the arrangements.

Detailed discussions were also held on the steps taken to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees and visitors during the festival.
The administration has also prepared a comprehensive traffic management plan to prevent congestion across the city on the day of the Rath Yatra. The Traffic Police have been instructed to implement alternative traffic routes, parking arrangements and effective traffic regulation to facilitate the movement of vehicles and devotees.
According to the administration, adequate police and traffic personnel will be deployed at key locations to maintain law and order and assist the public. Officials said a large gathering of devotees is expected, as in previous years, and therefore no compromise is being made with security arrangements.
