Dharmanagar, July 17: A wholesale shop in the heart of Dharmanagar town was targeted by a gang of thieves late Tuesday night. Shop owner Siratur Ram Ghosh discovered the theft when he arrived at his store on Wednesday morning.

According to Ghosh, the burglars gained entry by cutting through the tin roof at the back of the shop and breaking the ventilator. The intruders made off with approximately four to five thousand  from the cash box but did not steal any merchandise.

Upon receiving information, officials from the Dharmanagar police station promptly arrived at the scene. The incident was caught on CCTV, and police have collected the footage as part of their investigation. A formal theft case has been registered, and an inquiry is currently underway.
