Agartala, June 25: In two separate incidents on Monday, the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Agartala Railway Station recovered a large quantity of contraband substances.
According to the police, after the arrival of the Rajdhani Express in Agartala, a total of 270 bottles of syrup were seized during a routine checking operation. The estimated market value of the seized cough syrup is around ₹1,35,000.
In another operation later the same evening, police apprehended a young woman and recovered 9 packets of dried ganja, weighing 21 kilograms 490 grams, from her possession. The contraband was concealed in a trolley bag, and preliminary investigations revealed that she intended to transport it to Delhi.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.
