Agartala, June 18: Police have arrested Arjun Das, the prime accused in the vandalism incident at the BJP’s 39 Manu Mandal party office in Kalachhara, which took place on June 6. Das, who had been absconding since the incident, was apprehended during a special operation conducted by Manubazar Police Station, led by Officer-in-Charge Birjit Das, based on a secret tip-off.

According to police sources, actionable evidence of Arjun Das’s involvement in the incident had surfaced during the investigation, prompting the swift operation. Following his arrest on Monday night, the accused was produced before the Sabroom Court this morning, where the police filed a petition seeking his remand for further interrogation.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
