“We respect and honor our country as Mother India. The country is our motherland.”
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratanlal Nath said this at a function organized by Meri Mati Mera Desh Abhiyan Program at the office premises of Mohanpur Municipal Council on Friday.
It should be noted that soil was collected from 15 wards of Mohanpur Municipal Council and 18 Gram Panchayats of Mohanpur Block as part of the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign. The collected soil is brought to Mohanpur Municipal Council premises.
In the event, the Agriculture Minister also said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the initiative to make the country self-reliant. In addition, the Prime Minister has also taken the initiative to inspire the people of the country in the spirit of nationalism. In this context, the Meri Mati Mera Desh Abhiyan program has been launched across India.”
He further said that freedom fighters and those who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of the country are being remembered in this programme.
Family members of 3 freedom fighters and 42 retired soldiers were felicitated on the occasion.
Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath hoisted the national flag on the occasion. The national anthem was played. After the ceremony, the plaque was unveiled and trees were planted.
Chairman of Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Rina Debbarma, Vice Chairman Rakesh Deb, Chairperson of Mohanpur Municipal Council Anita Debnath, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Subhash Dutta and others were present on the occasion.
