Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Tripura on a two-day tour beginning June 4. According to official sources, the Union Home Minister will arrive in Agartala on the evening of June 4.
During his visit, Shah will participate in the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of the proposed Pushpawant Palace Hotel at the old Raj Bhavan premises in Agartala on June 5. The project is expected to boost tourism infrastructure in the state and enhance heritage-based development initiatives.
Later in the day, the Home Minister will visit the Border Security Force (BSF) border outpost at Lankamura to review security arrangements along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Shah is also scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with senior BSF officials at the BSF headquarters in Shalbagan. The meeting is expected to focus on border management, security preparedness, and other issues related to safeguarding the international border.
The visit is being viewed as significant in the context of Tripura’s strategic border location and the Centre’s continued emphasis on infrastructure development and security in the Northeast.
