On July 5, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has ordered immediate arrest of persons involved in the attack on journalist Tapas Das.

Press Club Secretary Pranab Sarkar spoke to the Chief Minister about the issue on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister strongly condemned the incident. He said such incidents would not be tolerated in any way.

He directed the State Police to take strict action against the attackers immediately.

The Chief Minister wished a speedy recovery of the journalist Tapas Das.

Pranab Sarkar, Secretary of the Agartala Press Club demanded the investigation to be handed over to the CID.

Meanwhile, press club secretary Pranab Sarkar today spoke to the district police superintendent about the attack on journalist Tapas Das.

The police superintendent said the process of identifying the attackers is going on by observing CCTV footages.

The police superintendent also said that strict action will be taken soon after identification of the attackers.
