The government has taken multifaceted schemes to improve the quality of sports in the state.
The Department of Youth Affairs and Sports has made efforts to bring many changes in the sports infrastructure by next December.
The department is preparing a list of names of former and famous players of all districts to take their advice so that quality of football, volleyball, hockey, athletics and other sports can be improved.
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister and Chairman of Tripura Sports Board, Sushanta Chowdhury stated it on Tuesday in the annual general meeting of Tripura Sports Board at NSRCC.
Speaking on the occasion, the Sports Minister said that Tripura Sports Association is playing an important role in the promotion of sports in the state.
There are 52 coaching centres, 52 contract trainers and 32 affiliated sports associations under this organisation.
A provision has been made to provide Rs. 50 lakhs to these organisations in the current financial year to improve the quality of sports.
The Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarman as well as the Sports Ministry have taken liberal approach in this regard.
