Agartala, July 5: Tipra Motha has intensified its movement against alleged Bangladeshi infiltration in Tripura. Members of the party set off on a march to Delhi from the North Gate area of Agartala on Saturday, demanding immediate intervention from the central government to curb infiltration from across the border.
Speaking about the protest, Tipra Motha leader David Murasingh described Bangladeshi infiltration as an international issue that has long affected the state’s indigenous population. He alleged that the state government has failed to take effective measures to address the problem, leaving many locals deprived of their rights.
Murasingh further said that despite submitting several deputations and staging protests on this issue over the years, no concrete solution has been provided. As a result, they have been compelled to organize this march to Delhi to convey their concerns directly to the central leadership.
Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has also extended his support to the program, backing the party workers’ initiative to raise the matter at the national level.
