Agartala: BJP booth president Dukhiya Debbarma and party worker Hiran Debbarma of Booth No. 25 under Simna Mandal were allegedly attacked by miscreants in the Hejamara area on Monday night.
According to sources, the incident took place while the two BJP leaders were returning home after attending a party programme.
Suddenly, they were assaulted by miscreants, leaving them seriously injured. People present at the spot immediately came to their rescue and rushed them to GB Pant Hospital for medical treatment.
Both Dukhiya Debbarma and Hiran Debbarma are currently undergoing treatment at GBP Hospital and were reported to be in a bloodied condition following the attack.
On receiving information about the incident, Minister Tinku Roy, Bipin Debbarma, and other BJP leaders rushed to GBP Hospital to inquire about their health condition. They strongly condemned the attack and demanded strict action against those involved.
