AGARTALA: The Pradesh Congress and the Sadar District Congress Committee jointly organized a protest march and roadshow on Friday, alleging large-scale corruption and misuse of public funds under the Agartala Smart City project.

The rally commenced from the Congress Bhawan, traversed major thoroughfares across the city, and concluded with a gathering at Paradise Chowmoni. Addressing the public during the roadshow, Congress leaders criticized the execution of the project, stating that city roads have been left in a state of disrepair with severe potholes for an extended period. They highlighted that ongoing construction work has exacerbated traffic congestion, waterlogging, and daily hardship for residents.

Party speakers alleged that funds meant for urban development were misused, forcing the people of Agartala to endure hellish conditions. The Congress leadership called for widespread public resistance against those responsible, while demanding a transparent investigation into the Smart City works and immediate measures to resolve the civic issues.
