Agartala, February 25: While the state government continues to highlight improvements in crime prevention, maintenance of law and order, anti-drug campaigns, and road accident control, the opposition Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) has been accused of attempting to disrupt the peaceful environment of Tripura.
Supporters of the ruling Party claim that under the current administration, Tripura Police has earned a positive reputation for its proactive role in maintaining law and order across the state. However, they allege that the CPIM, facing internal organizational challenges, is trying to create disturbances to assert its political presence.
According to political observers aligned with the ruling side, the CPIM has been intensifying its activities since the 18th of this month. They claim that the party, lacking substantial political issues, is attempting to regain visibility through protests and public demonstrations.
On Wednesday, a protest staged by the women’s wing of the CPIM reportedly led to tensions with police personnel. Critics described the demonstration as an attempt to attract attention rather than address specific public concerns. They alleged that the protest was aimed at gaining social media visibility through confrontation with law enforcement authorities.
