The Delhi High Court has ordered the immediate shifting of activist Sonam Wangchuk from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

A bench comprising Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia passed the order while hearing a plea filed by Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali Angmo. She had challenged a Sunday order by the high court that declined to intervene in his ongoing treatment at the central government hospital.

The bench directed the director of Medanta Hospital to constitute a team of specialists to monitor Wangchuk round the clock. It also ordered that Gitanjali Angmo be allowed to visit her husband at the hospital whenever she wishes.
