Charilam, Tripura: Alleging prolonged neglect by the Education Department, the authorities of Rangmala RS Colony JB School under the Charilam RD Block have raised concerns over the deteriorating condition of the school building, which reportedly allows rainwater to enter classrooms during the monsoon.
According to the school principal, both teachers and students are forced to endure leaking roofs and waterlogged classrooms whenever it rains. The principal said that repeated appeals have been made to the School Inspector, the Block Development Officer (BDO), and the concerned ADC authorities, but no repair work has been undertaken so far.
The principal further stated that important school records and other essential documents are being damaged due to continuous rainwater leakage. Classroom teaching is also being disrupted, as students have to be shifted to other rooms whenever rainfall intensifies.
Teachers, too, are facing difficulties in carrying out their duties under such conditions. The school authorities have urged the concerned departments to take immediate steps to repair the building and ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students.
