Fisheries play an important role in the development of the rural economy. Various programs are being implemented in Tripura to make the state self-reliant in fisheries production.
Fishery Minister Sudhanshu Das said this while inaugurating Khokon Deb’s Fresh Water Finfish Hatchery at Barabil Panchayat in Khowai on Friday.
This hatchery has been constructed at a cost of 25 lakh rupees under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampad Yojana.
The Fishery Minister asked people to take advantage of various schemes of the Central and State Governments to enrich themselves and others.
Director of Fishery Department Moslem Uddin Ahmed spoke at the opening ceremony of the hatchery.
