Four Tripura Police personnel arrested in alleged drug trafficking case, sent to 5-day police remand

Four police personnel of Tripura Police have been arrested on charges of alleged involvement in drug trafficking. The arrested officers are Teliamura Police Station’s second officer Inspector Ajit Debbarma, SI Rajendra Riang, SI Shampa Das, and Special Branch Teliamura Unit IC ASI Sachindra Debbarma.

Sources said the action was taken following instructions from Director General of Police . The Crime Branch produced the four accused police personnel before the district court on Monday, following which the court sent them to five days’ police remand.

The investigation is being led by DSP Poushdhan Rupini and Inspector Raghu Lal. SI Shampa Das and ASI Sachindra Debbarma were produced in court after undergoing medical examinations at Teliamura Police Station.
