In an unexpected turn of events on Sunday, District Magistrate of Gomati, Tarit Kanti Chakma, declined to meet Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.

Debbarman, who had arrived at the DM’s official residence hoping to discuss pressing public issues concerning Ompi and other areas under Gomati district, was left disappointed as his request for a meeting was turned down.

Addressing the media outside the DM’s residence, Debbarman voiced his frustration, emphasizing his role as a public representative. “I came here to meet the District Magistrate of Gomati regarding some important matters. Unfortunately, he refused to meet me. If he doesn’t wish to meet, there’s nothing more I can do,” Debbarman told reporters.

The incident has sparked reactions among supporters and the public, raising concerns about the communication gap between administrative authorities and elected representatives.
