A controversy erupted on Sunday after Gomati District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma reportedly declined to meet Tipra Motha Party chairman Pradyot Bikram Manikya DebBarma and the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) at his official residence.
The incident has drawn sharp political criticism across the state, with Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Choudhury strongly condemning the DM’s conduct.
In a statement to the media, Choudhury said, “The behaviour of the Gomati DM towards two public representatives is completely unacceptable and condemnable. As a public servant, such conduct amounts to dereliction of duty and reflects sheer arrogance.”
