The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the Financial Literacy Week 2025 in Agartala today along with the entire country. The Governor of Tripura, Shri. Indrasena Reddy was present as the chief guest at the event.
In his address, the Governor, Shri Indrasena Reddy, elaborated on the importance of financial empowerment of women at the community level, in the development of the state and the country as a whole. He expressed the hope that women’s development, their financial empowerment and literacy will play a major role in realizing the dream of making India a “Developed India”.
The Governor said on the occasion that only when women are financially literate can there be a radical change in the family and society. Women will be able to easily avail the benefits of government schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and PM Ujjwala Yojana.
The theme of this year’s Financial Literacy Week, initiated by the Reserve Bank, is Financial Literacy-Enriched Women. On the occasion, the Governor said that financial literacy is an important issue in this geographically backward region. He expressed the opinion that financial literacy programs will be particularly helpful in providing women with the necessary skills to manage their finances properly and efficiently.
