Assam is set to witness the formation of a new government as Governor formally invited Chief Minister-designate to form the next government in the state.

Following his unanimous election as the leader of the legislative party, Himanta Biswa Sarma, accompanied by alliance leaders, met the Governor at Lok Bhavan and officially staked claim to form the government.

The meeting marked the formal beginning of the government formation process in Assam.
