Udaipur, Nov 7: A 43-year-old housewife, identified as Deepti Das, died after being burnt in her own house at Rajarbagh area in Udaipur on Thursday morning.
According to reports, Deepti’s husband, Srikrishna Das, had gone out for his routine morning walk when the incident occurred. Locals noticed flames in front of the couple’s house and rushed to the spot. They found Deepti in a severely burnt condition. Moments later, she came out of the house and collapsed on the road.
The locals immediately informed the fire department, and fire personnel rushed to the scene. Deepti was rescued and taken to Udaipur Gomati District Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared her brought dead.
Upon receiving the information, Radhakishorpur police reached the spot and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. The body has been sent to the Gomati District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
The tragic incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the Rajarbagh locality.
