On the 25th of October, Cyclonic Storm Hamoon was located in the coastal region of Bangladesh.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is expected to move towards the northeast side and gradually weaken into a deep depression within the next six hours, followed by further deterioration into a depression during the subsequent six hours.
The IMD’s statement in X mentioned, “Cyclonic Storm Hamoon, situated over the coastal area of Bangladesh, was centered at 0530 hours IST on the 25th of October, approximately 40 km east-southeast of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It is projected to move towards the northeast and lose intensity, first becoming a deep depression within the next 6 hours and later transitioning into a depression during the following 6 hours.”
Videos shared on X depicted heavy rains and strong winds in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, as the cyclone passed near Chattogram (Chittagong).
Besides, IMD said that light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at most places of Mizoram and Tripura on 25th October along with isolated heavy rainfall.
The weather department has also predicted light to moderate rainfall on 26th October at many places over Tripura and Mizoram.
