Dhaka: Disruption at the Indian Visa Application Centre in Dhaka has led to diplomatic unease between India and Bangladesh. In response to the incident, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday summoned the Bangladeshi Ambassador in New Delhi and sought an explanation regarding the prevailing situation in Bangladesh.
Expressing concern over the development, India stated that such incidents could adversely affect the long-standing friendly and cooperative relations between the two neighbouring countries. Officials indicated that New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation.
Sources said that diplomatic discussions are currently underway between the two sides to resolve the matter at the earliest. Analysts warned that any delay in addressing the issue could disrupt the bilateral visa application process and affect public interactions between the two nations.
