Agartala: Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Thursday visited the workers injured in the recent clash at Dharmanagar, currently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital. During the visit, he sharply criticized the prevailing law and order situation in the state.
Speaking to reporters, Sarkar alleged that “there is no rule of law in the state; a jungle raj is prevailing here. People do not even have the right to speak.” He stated that such a situation cannot be allowed to continue.
The senior CPI(M) leader also raised questions regarding the role of police during the incident.
He urged the state government to take immediate steps to strengthen security measures and ensure proper maintenance of law and order across Tripura.
