Belonia, December 22:Bharatiya Janata Party MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Left parties, particularly the communists, alleging that their political history is marked by violence, anti-national ideology, and suppression of dissent.
Addressing a public meeting in the Nalua area of Belonia subdivision, Deb said the communists’ past is “soaked in blood,” which, according to him, explains their opposition to national icons and historical figures.
He alleged that communist leaders had repeatedly shown disrespect towards great personalities of India, including Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The MP claimed that at different times the communists had labeled Tagore a “bourgeois poet,” insulted Swami Vivekananda, and even branded Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as a “Japanese agent.” He further alleged that during the Left Front rule, ordinary citizens were subjected to inhuman torture and repression.
Citing multiple instances from the Left regime, Deb accused the communists of silencing voices of opposition and inflicting suffering on common people.
He added that although communist leaders occasionally apologize and admit to their historical mistakes, their core ideology remains unchanged.
