Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the prevailing flood situation in various parts of Assam came up for discussion during his meeting with the state’s Members of Parliament and assured that the Centre was working closely with the Assam government to assist those affected.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said he prayed for the safety and well-being of the people.
“Met MPs from Assam and discussed the prevailing flood situation in various parts of the state. The Centre is working closely with the Assam Government in assisting those affected. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being,” PM Modi wrote.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked Prime Minister Modi for personally monitoring the flood situation in the state, while the Indian Air Force (IAF) said it had rescued 458 stranded people and delivered over nine tonnes of relief supplies across flood-affected areas of Assam and Nagaland over the past 10 days.
