The Center may soon give good news to the people. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has clearly indicated that a big step may be taken regarding GST. The idea of reducing the 12 percent GST slab to 5 percent is being considered. If that decision is given the green signal, then the prices of daily necessities will come down. As a result, a smile will come on the faces of the people.
A source in an all-India media outlet claims that a decision on this issue may be taken in the next meeting of the GST Council. As a result, the prices of many things will decrease in one fell swoop.
These include toothpaste, tooth powder, umbrellas, sewing machines, pressure cookers, utensils, electric irons, low-capacity washing machines, bicycles, clothes worth more than Rs 1,000, shoes worth between Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, stationery items, vaccines, ceramic tiles, etc.
Sources claim that this will result in an additional pressure of Rs 40,000 crore to Rs 50,000 crore on the government
