Lack of pure drinking water in Unakoti District Hospital . Patients and their relatives are suffering immensely. Allegedly, there is only one water purifier for drinking water in the entire hospital premises.

But that too has been lying idle for a long time. Patients and their relatives claim that iron-rich and muddy water is coming out of the filter. Many are expressing reluctance to drink that water.

They are forced to buy bottled water from outside the hospital. This is putting additional financial pressure on poor families. Patients and their relatives allege that although the issue has been reported to the hospital authorities several times, there has been no permanent solution yet.

Common people have raised questions about such a crisis in an important institution like the District Sadar Hospital. They demand that the useless water purifier be repaired immediately or a new filter be installed to provide safe and pure drinking water to everyone
