Residents living in the area adjacent to Howrah Bridge are facing growing uncertainty as their houses are being demolished for dam construction work.
The situation has created widespread panic among the affected families. On this issue, members of 40 families, led by Uttam Saha, formed a four-member delegation and met Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Maniklal Das at his office to submit a memorandum outlining their grievances.
Following the meeting, the delegation was summoned to the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office, where further discussions were held.
During the meeting, the residents once again presented their problems and sought appropriate relief and rehabilitation measures from the administration.
