Agartala, April 29: A high-intensity storm accompanied by heavy rainfall swept across Tripura over the past 24 hours, leaving a trail of destruction in all eight districts and disrupting normal life.

According to official reports, a total of 1,534 houses were damaged in the storm. Of these, 76 houses were completely destroyed, 195 houses suffered severe damage, and 1,263 were partially affected. The storm also caused significant damage to infrastructure, including roads and power supply systems, with at least 129 electric poles reported damaged.
