Although our country is huge in terms of size and geography, we are all culturally united. People from different linguistic groups live here, but culture binds us all together.
This is the characteristic of India. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy said this while addressing as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of 4-day Amrit Yuva Kala Utsav 2023-24 organized by Sangeet Natak Akademi at Rabindra Bhavan yesterday.
He said that even though the Mughals and the British ruled our country for many years, the traditional cultural heritage of India was never lost. This cultural heritage has given a special place to India in the entire world.
He said that many changes have come in our country in the last 75 years after independence. The image of prosperous India is unfolding in front of the whole world. He requested the entrepreneurs to hold such programmes in other parts of the state outside Agartala.
On the occasion, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Abhiram Bharat Kankar said that the workshop on drama writing started with this programme is very important in various aspects. This workshop will play a strong role in enhancing the playwriting skills of the current generation. Secretary of Sangeet Natak Akademi Raju Das, in his welcome speech said, Amrit Yuva Kala Utsav is being organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. This festival started from Chennai. After organizing this festival in different cities of India, it started yesterday in Agartala.
At the same time, the 3-day playwriting workshop has also started yesterday. Two eminent dramatists from West Bengal and Bihar have come here to impart training in this workshop Director of North East Cultural Centre Agartala Harinath Jha gave the vote of thanks on the occasion.
The Programme was also attended by Minister of Tribal Welfare Bikash Debbarma, Member of Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council Bidyat Debbarma. Information and Cultural Affairs Department assisted in organizing this event
