Salema, August 2, 2025:A grand programme was organized at Salema Community Hall to mark the release of the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 345 farmers from across the region. The event was organized by KVK Dhalai and proved to be a resounding success.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Bina Das Biswas, Hon’ble Chairperson of Salema Panchayat Samiti, who graced the event as the Chief Guest and Inaugurator.
In her address, she emphasized the transformative impact of the PM-KISAN scheme and encouraged farmers to actively participate in all government agricultural initiatives for sustainable development.
Shri Nani Gopal Kar, Hon’ble Vice-Chairman, Salema Panchayat Samiti, attended the event as the Guest of Honour, where he urged farmers to adopt modern techniques and make full use of the financial support being extended through the PM-KISAN and allied schemes.
Sri Bimal Debbarma, Hon’ble Chairman, BAC, Salema, presided over the function. In his presidential remarks, he highlighted the importance of timely e-KYC updates and proper land documentation to ensure uninterrupted benefit under PM-KISAN and similar welfare schemes.
The programme also had the gracious presence of several distinguished guests:

All the dignitaries delivered meaningful and insightful speeches, encouraging farmers to stay informed and connected with government support systems.
They also emphasized the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendras in bridging the gap between science and farmers, promoting improved productivity and income generation.
As part of the event, live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Varanasi was shown, followed by interactive sessions, awareness on e-KYC, and guidance on availing PM-KISAN and other agricultural schemes.
The programme concluded with a strong message of empowerment and commitment towards the farming community of Dhalai district.
