Tripura adjudged ‘best
performing, most improved’
small state in Agriculture.

Tripura has registered yet another success in the national level in terms of performance and growth under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Biplab Kumar Deb.

Tripura received two prestigious awards announced by the India Today Group during the ‘State of the States Conclave- 2019’ in New Delhi on Friday.
Tripura has been adjudged ‘best performing and most improved’ small state in Agriculture. The state has also been awarded in overall most improved small state category.

Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Information and Broadcasting, graced the conclave as chief guest while Arun Puri, Editor-in-Chief, India Today, and Raj Chengappa, Group Editor, India Today among other dignitaries were also present.

Agriculture Minister Shri Pranajit Singha Roy has received the two awards in the conclave here in Delhi.

The categories on which the states are judged include economy, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, inclusive development, law and order, governance, entrepreneurship, environment and cleanliness.

Meanwhile, the success came after the state government led by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb laid special focus on the field of agriculture. Apart from this, the state government already initiated a series of plans for an all-round growth of Tripura.

The India Today Group conducts the state-wise study every year with an attempt to find out the states offering best opportunities, both at work and outside, to the citizens.

The study tracks each state’s performance over time and, in particular, records the changes over the last five years. It takes into account both the business environment and the quality of life.
