Specialist doctors of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center and Agartala Government Medical College performed a complex surgery on a cancerous tumor in the skull bone of a patient on Wednesday.
A team of 10 specialist doctors completed the surgery successfully, which took around 8 hours.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha congratulated the expert doctors and various levels of medical staff involved in the surgery for this successful surgery.
The Chief Minister said that this success of the doctors has marked a new milestone in the state medical services.
The Family Welfare and Prevention Department highlighted the matter through a press release.
A 32-year-old woman had a large cancerous tumor attached to the skull bone.
The team of specialist neurosurgeons from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center, GBP Hospital and Agartala Government Medical College performed complex surgical removal of the tumor along with the woman’s skull bone on August 03.
They joined skin grafting and bilateral neck dissection with titanium mesh and posterior scalp rotation flap.
It is to be noted that the successful complex surgery of a 32-year-old woman was done on Wednesday in the neurosurgery department of AGMC.
