Tripura: Preparations for ‘Durga Puja’ is in full swing

Preparations for ‘Durga Puja’ is in full swing in the city of Agartala, Tripura as well as other parts of Tripura.

On September 21, people were seen thronging markets to purchase new dresses, shoes and other various items for ‘Durga Pooja’ celebrations.

This year enthusiasm among people are very high due to absence of covid restrictions and thus, almost all garment and clothing shops as well as food stalls were seen heavily crowded by teenagers, adults and children.

Meanwhile, most idols of Devi Durga are already constructed and artists were seen giving final touches to the finished statues.
The construction of the colossal puja pandals has also begun in all major clubs across Agartala.

Different themes are being used to design these pandals to attract pandal hoppers so that unique identities could obtained by these clubs.

Similarly, it was seen that idols of Devi Durga and other gods are designed with unique themes in some prestigious clubs.

The auspicious festival will commence on September 26, when artists will paint the eyes of the finished idols of Devi Durga during the occasion of Mahalaya.

The vibe of Durga Pooja is already being observed everywhere.

It is just 10 days to go when the biggest and main festival of the Bengali community will begin on October 01 during Mahasasthi, when ‘Maa Durga’ will be worshipped along with Devi Saraswati, Laxmi, Lord Ganesh and Karthik.
