There were significant protests in Agartala as candidates for the 2022 Selection Test For Graduate Teachers (STGT) demonstrated in front of the Siksha Bhavan.

They were protesting against what they perceived as an unreasonable delay by the government in announcing the results.
The STGT examination, administered by the Teachers Recruitment Board of Tripura (TRBT), took place in September 2022.

Protesters expressed their frustration with the Education department, noting that more than a year and a half had elapsed since the test without the results being announced.

One demonstrator remarked, “We can see that there is a shortage of teachers for Class 9 and 10 across Tripura. The irony is that despite having the necessary qualifications, we are still awaiting recruitment. If we are recruited, the shortage of teachers will also decrease. However, we are still waiting for our results, and no recruitment has been conducted yet.
