Kanchanpur, July 14: Kanchanpur police on Sunday conducted a raid at Narayan Sarani village and arrested two drug peddlers along with banned narcotics, including heroin. The arrested individuals have been identified as Prajesh Banik and Farendra Nath.
According to police sources, during a search operation at the residence of Prajesh Banik, officers recovered 1.16 grams of heroin, 85 empty containers suspected to be used for drug storage, and a quantity of cash.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kanchanpur police station, Uddam Debbarma, informed that the raid was carried out based on a tip-off. Subdivisional administration officials were also present during the operation.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.
