Kanchanpur, June 22:
Officials from the Odisha Vigilance Anti-Corruption Branch conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to suspended IAS officer Dhiman Chakma, including his ancestral home in Kanchanpur and a residence in Himachal Pradesh. The raids were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into a bribery case involving the officer.
According to sources, a team comprising male and female officers from the Odisha Vigilance Anti-Corruption Branch, with assistance from the Kanchanpur Police Station, conducted the raid at Chakma’s ancestral home in Kanchanpur. Following the operation, the Vigilance team left the state after completing their investigation at the location.
It may be recalled that on June 5, Odisha Vigilance officials arrested IAS officer Dhiman Chakma after he was caught accepting a bribe from a businessman.
Meanwhile, the Vigilance Anti-Corruption Branch has intensified its investigation into the matter, with further inquiries expected in the coming days.
