Agartala, June 4:
Former Chief Minister and current Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb actively participated in relief and rescue operations following the severe floods triggered by continuous rains in Tripura.
On Tuesday, a day after the heavy downpour, Deb personally visited multiple relief camps across the state to distribute food, essential supplies, and medicines to affected families.
At various relief shelters, he handed over rice, pulses, potatoes, drinking water bottles, and primary medicines to thousands of displaced people. His presence brought emotional moments among flood victims, with many expressing gratitude and hope.
While addressing the people at a relief camp, Dev reassured them by saying, “The water level in the river has receded significantly. Those staying in the shelter homes will gradually be able to return to their homes.”
He further added that the government and administration are committed to taking all necessary actions for relief and rehabilitation. “Whatever steps need to be taken by the administration, they will be executed swiftly,” he assured.
On the same day, Biplab Kumar Deb visited several flood-hit areas, including Pratapgarh Rishi Colony School, Jagannath Dighi Para, and Dhaleshwar Colony. He interacted with affected families and took stock of the situation at various shelter houses, offering words of courage and promising government support for rebuilding lives.
The local residents appreciated Deb’s proactive involvement during the crisis, which provided a much-needed morale boost amid the hardships caused by the floods.
