Agartala, June 25: CPM State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury has alleged that complete anarchy prevails in the state, with all power concentrated in the hands of a few BJP leaders and their close associates. He claimed that a ‘mafia raj’ is currently being run in Tripura under the protection of the ruling party.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Chowdhury said that law and order have collapsed, and incidents of violence, intimidation, and political suppression are becoming routine. Former minister Manik Dey and several other senior party leaders were also present at the press conference.
The CPIM leaders highlighted the background of various recent incidents in the state, which they said reflected the deteriorating governance and rising lawlessness under the current administration.
The party demanded immediate intervention to restore democratic rights and ensure safety for opposition leaders and citizens.
