Agartala: The Tripura CPI(M) has decided to hold its rally in front of Rabindra Bhavan after being denied permission to use its preferred venues, a senior party leader confirmed on Tuesday.
The rally marks the commencement of the party’s 24th state conference, which is set to begin on Wednesday. Key CPI(M) leaders, including coordinator Prakash Karat, politburo member Brinda Karat, and other senior members, are expected to attend the event.
Initially, the opposition party had planned a grand rally at Swami Vivekananda ground but was denied permission by the administration. Following this, an alternative request to hold the event at Umakanta Academy ground was also rejected, as authorities cited the inability to declare a school holiday for a political gathering.
With no other options, the CPI(M) has now shifted the rally to Rabindra Bhavan, ensuring the conference proceeds as planned.
